Keyboard Stops Working During Installation of Slackware 10.2

I am trying to install Slackware 10.2 on my Compaq Presario 2500 laptop.

Here is what has been happening to me:

I boot the installation CD just fine and at the boot: prompt I just press enter for the default kernel.

Then, it asks me if I would like to choose a different keyboard map besides the default US keyboard map. I try to press enter but at this point my keyboard is not working anymore.

I don't understand why this would happen, my keyboard is working just fine at the boot: prompt but then all of a sudden it stops. I have tried using an external keyboard but that doesn't work either. I have looked in all of the installation documentation and FAQs on the Slackware website but there is nothing that refers to this problem. Does anyone know what is happening and how I can fix this problem?

Thanks,
Jake

You might need to turn off "Legacy USB support" in your bios. I think that's mentioned somewhere in the install docs.
