Keyboard not working in Slackware.
I recently tried to install Slackware. Everything went smooth during the install but when I rebooted the pc and tried to log on, I found my keyboard did not work. It worked well during install and the previous OS installed on this machine. It also seems to work while the pc is booting up. I restarted the pc again and still no keyboard for login. I restarted with a different keyboard and still no luck. I did do MD5sum checks of the download iso and made sure the keyboard worked with other computers. Right now I am running slax.Has anyone else run into this problem and is there a fix for this short of going through the install again. Thanks.

I just recently ran into the same problem, it happened to me after a failed 2.6 kernel upgrade. Can you SSH into the machine at all? Also maybe try booting the machine with a kernel off of the slackware cd, boot from it and when it gives the boot prompt, type in (without the quotes) "bare.i root=/dev/hda1" where hda1 is your root "/" partition for your system. If you want a 2.6 kernel, "test26.s root=/dev/hda1", same thing with the partition. I had to end up booting from another kernel to get my keyboard working again.
Hope this helps some.

same when i tried to use an un-configured 2.6 kernel. Try using a ps/2 keyboard instead of a USB one, or properly configure the kernel to have USB support.

This is a regular ps/2 keyboard. I have slax running right now. How similar to Slackware is slax? I have no problems with the keyboard booting the slax cd.
