thanks a lot paniagor, your advise was good .

my /etc/X11/XF86Config looks like this now :

# Then to change the language, change the Layout setting.

Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys"
# If you'd like to switch the positions of your capslock and

Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
Option "XkbModel" "abnt2"
Option "XkbLayout" "br"
these two were uncommented
Option "XkbLayout" "br"
Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys"

it worked fine with everything except for the ~ so i'm going to try it tonight thanx again
for your concern .
