kernel upgrade quickie question

ok, when i setup slackware 9.1 on the ol' dell laptop, i installed some DRI thing that went along with my ati card. When i installed it it asked about kernel location modules and things. if anyone knows about this stuff, when i upgrade to kernel 2.6, will this need reinstalled, overwritten?

just wondering if anyone might know, i am sure ill find out soon otherwise

when you install a driver it only applies to the kernel you installed it for as far as kernel modules go.

you can try the built-in driver in 2.6 it works with my ati card
