kernel panic issues with slackware 11.0

Hi all,

Im running my slack 11 inside vmware and i was able to install and use it without any problems for a few days. However, one day, when i tried to reboot my slack, it spat out this error :-

vfs:cannot open root device "800" or unknown-block(8,0)
pease append a correct "root=" boot option
kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,0)
Im certain that i didnt not upgrade or install any kernels-related apps or other software before the reboot. For time being, i can only boot the box using slack 11 CD 1 by running the huge26.s kernel. However, i cant load any modules thus render my slack kinda useles now. Strange.. hmm.. any ideas?

looks like you need to add root = (drive you set as root ex. /dev/hda3). i dont know, you might be able to type the "(name you gave slackware) root = (device path)" at the lilo bootscreen. if you have 0 wait the hold the shift key down to get to it.
