Kernel Panic ...
Hi,
I have a SATA disk. Recently I've installed slackware 10.2 without having a problem. Later i compiled a 2.6 kernel. When it comes to boot from the partition it gets this error:
VFS: Cannot open root device "806" or unknown-block(8,6)
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,6)
I've compiled the sata driver in the kernel (not as a module). Here is my lilo.conf:
# LILO configuration file
# generated by 'liloconfig'
#
# Start LILO global section
boot = /dev/sda
#compact # faster, but won't work on all systems.
