Kernel 3.10.9 Stalls on Boot Up at... ( perhaps, hplip?)

When booting the 3.10.9 kernel, it stalls for 30 seconds at

"Net: registered protocol family 10"

then proceeds. From what I've read, this has something to do with IPV6 so I disabled that, but the kernel still stalls at the same point, but for only 17 seconds instead of 30.

Interesting. Perhaps a hardware specific issue? No lag at boot-up here for 3.10.9 on three 32 bit -current boxes.

I watched it boot up this morning and it appears it might have something to do with hplip. After the 30 second stall a couple of error messages about hplip flew by on the screen, but they are not in dmesg or any of the other logs I looked at.
