Kernel 2.6.x module installing problem

Hi I tried with kernel 2.6.8.1 to install Video 4 Linux as a module and ov511 camera module for my webcam.
After reboot with new kernel I typed

modprobe videodev

and I get no module error(same for ov511 module too)

I tought maybe that was a bug and I tried the same thing with kernel 2.6.9 and it still seems that these modules aren't installed properly(only these 2 modules)

What's the problem?

PS: I used make gonfig for kernel configuration.

Is it possible that gconfig could be buggy?

masand 12-02-2004 02:22 PM

hi there

did u only run make gconfig to build a new kernel??

ok
what about
make modules

and ae u sure that u have the module of videodev
or u have built it in the kernel itself
