Kernel 2.6.6, how to enable the other console resolutions?

Hi,

I just compiled a 2.6.6 kernel and I tried to activate the option of having a better resulution like 1024x768 for the console.

I thought I selected all the right options. In my lilo.conf, when I added the new kernel entry, I also changed the "vga =" value to "ask" because I wanted lilo to prompt me to choose the resolution I wanted but when the kernel booted, instead of the resolution I asked for, just at the right of the tux logo, a strange sequence of letters, spaces and numbers apeared and the default resolution was selected instead.

So if some one know something about that problem, please ask me what infos you want me to provide and I will post them.

I have saved my config in a file after configured the kernel so if it can help you, I could post a part of it or send it in an email for you to analyse it.

Thanx in advance!

Make sure you have "Video mode selection support" compiled in.
