Kernel 2.6.20 and ATI 8.33.6

First off, I did a search for 2.6.20 on this thread and found that there were no results. So, if it's unspoken of and most likely most of you know kernel 2.6.20 has made it out. With that Linus has mentioned that there were quite a bit of fixes and the new KVM support.

I decided the other day to fdisk everything and put on the new slackware 11 with kernel 2.6.20 and install the new 8.33.6. Without much surprise I found out that the installer didn't complete building my kernel module and found that my log file has a crap load of errors and it can't compile the kernel module.

I do know that kernel 2.6.20 came out this week and 8.33 came out last month. So I am sure there were some unforseen things in the ati installer. So, my question is, has anyone been able to get this pair installed? Should I wait until a new installer comes out?

No I don't want to revert to 2.6.19.

everything in lsmod is loaded fine, my kernel is configured correctly and the kernel sources are where they should be. (of course). Any ideas besides get an nvidia card?

Oh..I have a 9600 and I think I would get flamed if I posted all of the errors that it generates. So here is a snippet :

Then your only other options are to wait for a new installer or fix it yourself. Check the ati forums to see if anyone in the community has a fix.

yea, that is what I am thinkin as well. Currently the radeon driver seems to be ok. I really don't run accel apps anyways.

On a side note, Slack 11 with 2.6.20 and dropline 2.16.2 work well together :-)
