kernel 2.6.0 test9 question...

I downloaded the source, and just before I was going to compile it, I looked inside the drivers, and there is no hotplug driver. Does this mean that hotplugging won't work? If not, how can I compile it with hotplugging?

make menuconfig, go to Bus Options, go to Support for hot-pluggable devices.
read the help for it.

I compiled it, and got no errors, but when I tried to reboot with the new kernel, I got a bunch of messeges that it couldn't load the modules. Did I happen to do something wrong? I followed the kernel compiling thing at the top of this forum, and still got that.

Is this the first time you are running a 2.6 or recent 2.5 kernel?

If so, you need to get the module-init-tools package. You should read the Changes document in the Documentation directory of the linux source for a list of other requirements.
