Kern 2.6.15 Unstable Help

Hey ok i got a question i have kernel 2.6.15 no patch. Im using gnome with the last dropline version and slack-current. It will crash on me when im using Mozilla firefox and downloading a file, or trying to open the file in the download window. Also i've notice it will crash when i open my home directory. It only happens in this kernel i've tried with kernel 2.4.26 and it doesnt crash like 2.6.15? I dunno if its a problem with the kernel maybe i configured it wrong? i dunno or maybe its sumthing with mozilla? im not sure....im going to try kde and see if it crashes. By crashes i mean ill be doing sumthing and it will freze up i can move the mouse but nothing else. My sound stops also...im not sure what to do? Someone please help me
I dont wanna go back to kernel 2.4, 2.6 is amazing! it boots up faster, detects everything!!

I don't think there is a generic problem with the 2.6.15 kernel that is causing your problem. I am running 2.6.15.5 with Dropline on several PC's in my office and everything is running very well. I started with the Slackware .config file from the 2.6.13 kernel in /testing, and stripped out everything that I didn't need.

You might want to try compiling the new kernel with the .config from 2.6.13 and see if the problem continues. Then strat trimming the options to get to what you want.
