KDE4.11 stuck on invalid screen resolution

If this has been answered anywhere I couldn't find it.
Last night I was playing with Doom Legacy and one of the times it started, it opened in 320x200 fullscreen. I use a 720p lcd tv as my monitor and when the game tried to set the resolution my screen went blank because the resolution is unsupported. I recently had a similar issue with a game going to 640x480 but I was able to change it back with nvidia-settings.
The problem is KDE4 is permanently setting itself to the fullscreen game resolutions. In its current state it doesn't display at all and I have to Ctrl+Alt+BkSpc to exit back to a console. I have nvidia-settings set and a line in .xinitrc to load the config but KDE seems to ignore it. I found a thread that suggests Xrandr in .kde4/autostart and I will try it soon. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
Fluxbox works fine so I believe it is a KDE problem and not Xorg settings. I am running Slackware 14.1 with nvidia proprietary drives and AlienBob's KDE4.11. I did struggle a bit at first to set the resolution when I installed KDE, as it is my first time trying to use KDE4. Is there a file where KDE stores the screen resolution settings that I can edit and fix from a console?

Perhaps ~/.kde/share/config/startupconfig ?

On my setup I see:
Code:
# krandrrc Display ApplyOnStartup false
krandrrc_display_applyonstartup=true
# krandrrc Display StartupCommands ''
krandrrc_display_startupcommands='xrandr --output VGA-0 --pos 1280x0 --mode 1280x1024 --refresh 60.0197
xrandr --output DVI-I-1 --pos 0x0 --mode 1280x1024 --refresh 60.0197
xrandr --output DVI-I-1 --primary'

Thanks for the quick reply. You got me looking in the right area. I got it fixed now. plasmadesktoprc has those resolution settings. After editing the file I got back to my KDE desktop and just had to adjust my nvidia-settings again to compensate for the overscan (being a lcd tv).
