KDE with PulseAudio support
Greetings!
In order to incorporate PulseAudio support in KDE, would it be necessary to rebuild a specific package? Or would KDE threat it like any other back-end? Would kmix need to be rebuilt also? I've done this with the MATE desktop (rebuild one package). XFCE is easy since pavucontrol fits the bill. I don't think rebuilding the whole things would be necessary, but I could be wrong though. Thanks for any help that you could provide. |
kde-runtime and kmix are the only towo in KDE 4.14 that actively look for PulseAudio during compilation.
In kde-runtime, libpulse is needed for the audio setup GUI. In kmix, libpulse is needed to let KMix control PulseAudio. |
I haven't checked on -current yet. For 14.1 (with alienBOB's KDE 4.13) I needed phonon, kmix and gst-plugins-good (for -current you'll then also need gst-plugins-good0).
And then of course recompiles/addons for all the other sound using apps that you'd like to have integration. |
Thank you both for the quick response! :)
