kde problems in slackware 9.1
Hey guys i have just installed slackware 9.1 onto my celeron 433MHz,64MB RAM n its runnin KDE. This is real slow, i didnt read into which one i should choose to run before i installed slackware because i am new to linux. I have heard that cholesterol free manager is good or something. Can someone please tell me how to change the window manager or whatever it is from KDE to Cholesterol free?
Btw could someone drop me their msn adress or something because i need to ask some other questions about linux n this forum takes a while to reply sometimes. Thanks guys, Clarence |
You can install a lightweight WM like Fluxbox and then use the command
Code:
xwmconfig |
Wint just 64MB RAM you'll need to use either fluxbox or windowmaker. Plus make sure you have some swap space (either a swap file or swap partition) of 64-128MB
