Ugh another problem. I reinstalled slack after almost overcoming the kernel problem i posted about earlier.
when i try to log into KDE, i get this error message
"Your login shell is not listed in /etc/shells"
Everything looks fine in that file. i was able to login into KDE before i reinstaled.. and i didnt install it any different this time. Any hints ? Thank you
I had this same problem too. The original poster gave me the idea of how to fix it by mentioning the passwd file. What i had to do is open up passwd and find the username that couldn't log in. His default shell was /bin/sh, but /bin/sh wasn't listed in /etc/shells so i just added "/bin/sh" to the shells file.
