i have just installed slackware 9.0 and installed KDE 3.1 with it, when i first started KDE all the fonts were huge (100px tall or so on most web sites, most menus were like 50px or so), i have fixed most of it by changing the default font sizes for KDE and konqueror to 4-6 pt and that shows up as normal sized font for most stuff, but i still get the huge fonts on certain websites (like winehq.com), gftp, running open office through ssh, and a few other programs and websites (like bold on some sites is huge)

what is causing this and how can i fix it?

and one more question, how do i enable graphical login?

EDIT:::
my screen res is 800x600, but i don't will make that will make this big of a difference

You should install kdm to get the KDE greeter screen and once you do that it will use the settings that are in /etc/kde3/kdm/Xservers for the font sizes with either a -dpi100 or -dpi75 that is in there different distros set it one or the other. And you can check the font path lines in the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 if that is what is called on slack and move the 100dpi line below the dpi75 one and restart the xserver and see if that helps, you may also want to make sure the type1 line is at the bottom of the font path section.

Thanks a lot, editing the Xserves file fixed it (it was in /opt/kde/share/config/kdm though)

i changed

:0 local@tty1 /usr/X11R6/bin/X vt7

to

:0 local@tty1 /usr/X11R6/bin/X :0 vt07 -dpi 75

fixed it
