KDE freezing upon normal errors

Hello..

I just installed 10.2 with KDE as my default xwindow manager and KDE seems to freeze whenever I run into a "normal" error.. example: I tried to run KsCD and forgot to load a cd.. so I got popup error giving a read access error on /dev/cdrom.. then KDE freezes but I still get mouse movement.

Even if I'm not able to solve the freezing issue, is there a way to break out of KDE?

Thanks in advance..

Ctrl-Alt-Backspace kills X and thus also KDE.

Ctrl-Alt-Backspace didn't work.. i had to ssh to my server and kill X with root

This looks like a Nvidia driver issue.. getting NVRM: Xid .. in the syslog around the time of the crash.
