KDE 5 on Slackware 14.2 Freezes on Resume from Suspend

I recently installed AlienBob's KDE 5 packages for Slackware 14.2, and when I suspend my computer through KDE, it will sometimes (about 50% of the time) freeze immediately after waking up. I can't ssh into it or interact via a serial console, so I have to do a hard reboot.

None of the log files in /var/log show anything unusual. Running pm-suspend works just fine, and I never encountered this problem with KDE 4.
I'm running on a desktop with an ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 motherboard.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or have any advice on fixing it? Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to the Brave New World of Plasma5!

Its programmers are so busy to think about Wayland and media player buttons in taskbar that still after 13 stable major releases (TWO LTS included), they even had no time to tame Plasma5 to handle properly its own configuration files, and you guys talk about holly things like suspending or baloo...

Let's be sober and to accept that the KDE as we know ended with KDE4.

What is beyond it, is only a lame clone of Windows 8, which make poster children of stability the Microsoft Corp. products.

PS. I really hope that our BDFL will never adopt this mountain of smelling crap which is Plasma5.

Thanks ahlr, but that didn't seem to work. I disabled file search in "Settings -> Search -> File Search" and it still froze on resume (several times).

You could try temporarily disabling compositing (default shortcut is Shift+Alt+F12) if you have it enabled, and then do some testing again.

Thanks, that seems to work. I tried several suspend-resume cycles without issue.
