Kde 4.3.1<solved>

I installed Slack 13 on my spare box and upgraded KDE to 4.3.1.
I'm trying to give the new KDE a fair shot but mostly what I've learned was the forgotten art of cursing in Creole and a bit of Cherokee.
I dunno what it's called and the KDE forum isn't helpful but,,,, it used to be the transparent box in the upper left quadrant of the screen which used to have some icons in it.
I have searched high and low, right clicked everything that would right click and havn't figured out how to get the dammed thing back.
Would someone kindly enlighten me as to what the heck it's called and how do I get it back?
And what the heck is an akonadi and will penicillin cure it?
If someone happens to know where there is a decent wiki/tutorial, would you be so kind as to point me in that direction also.

Disable akonadi from systemsettings->advanced. Nepomuk as well.
Also do you have any screenshot of what you are trying to find?

Akonadi isn't running and don't see anything about nepomuk.
What are they?

Figured it out, it's a desktop folder widget?

Appreciate the response.

As I replied above, it's the desktop folder widget? I was wanting.
I opened the home folder and drug the desktop icon onto the desktop, the selected folder view as you said.
