I had a problem with TTF-fonts when upgrading KDE from 3.1.0. to 3.1.3.
I upgraded qt at the same time (was in the same folder on the Slackware mirror):
installed TTF fonts did not function at all.
Removal of the new qt and reinstallation of the qt from the original Slack 9.0 distro solved the problem.
