kappfinder finds nothing

Hello,

After installing slackware 10 with kde 3.2 I tried to run kappfinder. Nothing shows up. I tried to remove kdelinks and then run kappfinder. This helpt for once. After that I got the same situation where no apps will show up.

Well, I just ran kappfinder, and it doesn't find many of my programs either.
It seems to be a pretty rudimentary way of adding things to your menu.

It says it looks for "legacy applications". I'm not sure what that's implying, but I'd bet that the appfinder uses a pretty limited database of programs and descriptions to match executables and then add them to your menu under classifications.

But the strange part is that it works the first time I try. So there is some kind of database available.

Funny that I don't see any complains on the net about that
