Kandy

I am trying to install Kandy with a Siemens M55 cellphone.
I got the USB cable link from FIDO Canada (cost more than the set!).
That's it.
End of the story!
Kandy says:
"Unable to open /dev/ttyS1"
/dev/ttyS1 exists and has 777 permission with root ownership
It is listed in KDE's info center USB devices as
PL2303 Serial Port
Anybody has an idea of what can be wrong?

Are you sure it's ttyS1? Maybe it's ttyS0 or something higher than 1. Also, since your are plugging it in through your USB slot, maybe you need to make sure that the USB device permissions are also set properly.

Exclamation the same problem almost...

...I have with Kandy as well. I have a serial cable with my Sony Ercisson T610 mobile phone and when I am trying to connect to the program, I run it and here is what I get:

- 'Unable to create lock file '/var/lock/LCK..ttyS1' Please check that you have sufficient permissions.

......and then another pop-up comes....

- ''Cannot open modem device /dev/ttyS1''

Any news about that? It is really frustrating because the first time I run the program I could go in without any mobile connected and check the settings etc. but now seems I changed something and now it's blown! Perhaps I setup the modem to be always on, or something. I tried to uninstall/reinstall the software but no luck, the same.

Any answer on this would be really helpfull...
