Kaffeine picture brightness

Howdy Forum,

I've got Slackware 11 running at home with a 2.6.17.13 kernel and 1280x1024 screen. I've installed kaffeine from Linuxpackages and then from Slackbuilds and they both came out with a washed-out, over-bright picture. This does not happen in xine, the picture is normal. I've installed libdvdcss and libdvdread.

I thought at first this was an Xorg problem, so I ran xorgconfig -- that fixed everything else including screen resolution, fonts and a bunch of other stuff, but Kaffeine was still the same.

Any ideas? Has anyone else had this happen?

Thanks,
Joel

afaik kaffeine uses xine as an backend.
maybe kaffeine configures xine to use another video driver?

That's what was so weird: I figured "it's playing using xine, so it must be universal..." I was wrong

I also thought this might be a Slackware-specific configure option, so I tried the SlackBuild, but that was the same story.
