k3b localization
Hi,
has anyone managed to localize k3b? There is an option in the menu "help"->"Switch application language" but the only option available is "American English". Ich can't seem to find anything in the internet, only for Ubuntu. I've installed kdei-l10n-de and want k3b with German menus. Some days ago I've installed Slackware on my father's old computer (it substitutes Win XP), but I've never recognized that k3b isn't in german ;) and my father doesn't speak english, he will not be able to use the burner with k3b in english. Thanks in advance. Markus |
Hi Markus,
this is a known problem, see this thread. Basically, Slackware ships a git version of k3b and it seems very difficult to grab all relevant PO files (those that would fit that version) in only one step. Pat would have to get them individually for each language, which is way too complicated. The fact is that it is pretty difficult to locate all theses files, even more as they are in the process of migrating from svn to git upstream. At least that was the case last time I checked (mid-may). Sorry for not bringing good news. |
Hi Markus,
I got my translations (pt_BR) here: desktop_extragear-multimedia_k3b.po k3b.po kio_videodvd.po libk3b.po libk3bdevice.po After I grab the files (click the revision number), I convert them to '.mo' with 'msgfmt xxx.po -o xxx.mo' and place the converted '.mo' set inside '/usr/share/locale/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES/'. I think the files you need are here. If not, try changing the locale. |
BrZ, that was the solution, it worked very well for me.
Thanks very much. Markus |
I've built a package for german localization of k3b.
You can download it here: k3b-l10n-de_noarch.tgz Markus |
