K3b and DVD burnig permissions

Hi, i just compiled 2.6.10 kernel, but i still can not burn DVD as user.
I have no problem with CDs. I already set as root chmod 755 /usr/bin/growisofs and i run K3bsetup.
I read many threads about this problem and it seems to be a kernel problem. (2.6.8 - 2.6.8.1 and 2.6.9)
I can only burn DVDs as root, but this cause queue problems with aMule because i have to end X session.
Any helps would be appreciated.
TNX, Harp00.

Why do you end X session to run k3b as root ? you could use ' kdesu k3b ' to run k3b with root
privileges in your user session... Also chmod 755 /usr/bin/growisofs as root will do nothing as it
is default permissions

In case you haven't tried this already, go to the k3b website and get the newest version. The have a Slackware package available. Use upgradepkg to install it. As root, run k3b. Run the k3b setup tool. I checked the option to have a burning group. I use cdrom as the burning group. Followed all the recommended changes. Works great with the 2.6.10 kernel for all users now.

Here, maybe this helps.

Code:
shilo@shilo2:/usr/bin$ ls -l cdr*
-rwxr-x--- 1 root cdrom 563540 2004-06-08 12:57 cdrdao*
-rwxr-x--- 1 root cdrom 457 2004-09-21 16:12 cdrecord*
-rwxr-x--- 1 root cdrom 372956 2004-09-21 16:27 cdrecord-ProDVD*
-rwxr-x--- 1 root cdrom 317404 2004-09-09 16:41 cdrecord.orig*

The package works for me. I believe that you need KDE 3.3.2 and qt 3.3.3. The link to it is here, http://www.linuxpackages.net/pkg_details.php?id=3250 . The author appears to speak Italian, as well, so he may be able to help if you are having trouble with it.
