I installed Slack 10.2 on this laptop recently and I've found some issues with the CD drive.
For starters, here's what my fstab looks like right now:
Quote:
/dev/hda2 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/hda3 / reiserfs defaults 1 1
/dev/hda1 /boot ext2 defaults 1 2
/dev/hda5 /usr reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/hda6 /var reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/hda7 /tmp reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/hda8 /home reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom auto auto,users,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0

When I mount /mnt/cdrom with a data CD, I have no problems. With a music CD however I get the message "mount: you must specify the filesystem type".
I've tried changing "auto" to "iso9660" and again I can mount data CDs with no problem, but with music CDs I get the message
"mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so".
Here's what dmesg | tail gives me:

What am I missing here?
