Talking Just an interesting story.

Today at my office on a conference call, I was talking to a software development team in my office about how our web development environment is going to change. We are going to be moving from an ASP.NET C# Windows Server environment to a linux environment with Drupal.

They were very excited as they are linux enthusiasts. One of them mentioned they used Debian, another said they used Ubuntu. I said I used linux at home as well and they asked what I used. I said "Slackware".

There was a pause for about 10 to 15 seconds and then one of them said "Wow...you take this pretty seriously don't you."

I took it as a compliment.

Jeez, what do they think the "Slack" part of "Slackware" means?

Slackware... A name that just says in the Linux community... There is nothing more to be said, as it is the final word in Linux.

*high five to JamesGT*

Yeah, what if you would have been wearing one under a suit, and then when they ask, you pull open your suit like Superman ... or Slackman ?

This makes me think of the time I went into Office Depot to buy printer cartridges, and I went up to the register to pay, and the cashier tried to sell me on Office Depot computer services (clean up malware, speed up Windows, that sort or thing). I was wearing my Slackware shirt at the time, so I simple pointed at it with both index fingers. He just kind of looked at me with a blank stare on his face.
