Journal error on an EXT3 filesystem while installing perl module

My os is Slackware 12.2 .

Here is what happened
/dev/hda2 - my /home - is an ext3 file system.
While installing the perl mod Gtk2-1.202 - running "make test" - An error occurred on the ext3 file system (/hda2); the error was a corrupted journal.

This is what I did to recover
I switched to init 1, unmounted /dev/hda2, and ran fsck;
it looked like it repaired the journel;
I then switched back to init 4

What I do not know
What do I need to do to recover from the failed install of the perl program?

You don't have to do anything more if the journal and filesystem were recovered.

The failing Gtk module can be deleted in your CPAN-directory by hand or recompiled or whatever you like to do with it.
