java in firefox
Hello!
I have added module for java but my browser dont show java...
What am I doing wrong ?

have you created the symbolic link from the java shared object to the plugins folder of firefox?

i usually use ln -s /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_06/jre/lib/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin.so . (i don't remember the path, so please adjust the path) and it worked. Do this in plugin directory of Firefox. Check that by typing about  lugins in address bar in Firefox.

i would do it in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
if you put it in the firefox plugins directory it gets deleted each time you upgrade firefox........

satinet, will firefox still recognise the new version of Java even if the link is in the /mozilla/plugins directory?
I also made my symlink in the /firefox/plugins area - oh well, im just curios. thanx

yes it will. try it....
when you do an upgrade on firefox the plugins directory gets removed along with the rest, so its not a a good place to put it.....
i keep all my plugins there - flash, realplayer etc
