Java 6 in Slackware 14
I wanted to install jdk6 in Slackware 14.
Why 6? Well that is what I have been programming with up till now and I don't want to worry about any problems that the upgrade will cause me just yet.

The slackbuild in 14/extra demands a .tar.gz file

To use it, you'll need Oracle's JDK or JRE package for Linux. Get the
appropriate version for your architecture, either 32-bit i586 or 64-bit
x64. Be sure to get the version that is packaged as a .tar.gz!
There is no .tar.gz for jdk6 that I can find, only for jdk7 so I installed the tgz package from 13.37. That seems to work Ok, at least for running, I haven't tried programming yet.

You can use the jdk.SlackBuild script of slackware 13.37's "/extra/source/jdk-6/" directory to build a Slackware package for the most recent JDK6, if you change the VERSION and DVER variables in the script and download the corresponding JDK6 binary archive from Oracle.
