Heh. I knew a guy in college (early 90's) whose father owned/owns a local media conglomerate. He said they'd use an older fax machine to transmit to a computer that had a fax/modem card inside. Crude, but effective enough at the time.

I recall back in the early 90' having modem and fax program on a win-3.11 box. Used to send faxes but the box wasn't always on so I had faxes sent to a local lady who did typing and book keeping for local small time tradies.

Off topic but interestingly .... she hated windows. She said it slowed her down having to use the mouse when before windows she did everything by keystroke.

Robert Crumb published Weirdo Magazine No. 1 in "Spring, 1981, more or less" actually March 1981 which included four pages of material from Douglas St. Clair Smith (Rev. Ivan Stang) on Bob Dobbs and the Church of the SubGenius. My first introduction to the subject.

Side note: Weirdo is a masterpiece, I just love everything that has been published there.

That was beautiful. True creativity. Normally I wouldn't wade through four pages of text without skipping some, but that was highly entertaining.
