Slackware 13.1 x86_64 stable is released!
Lots of thanks are due -- see the RELEASE_NOTES and the rest of the
ChangeLog for credits. The ISOs are on their way to replication,
a 6 CD-ROM 32-bit set and a dual-sided 32-bit/64-bit x86/x86_64 DVD.
We are taking pre-orders now at store.slackware.com, and offering
a discount if you sign up for a subscription. Consider picking up
a copy to help support the project. Thanks again to the Slackware
community for testing, contributing, and generally holding us to a
high level of quality. :-)
Enjoy!

That's a weird timestamp on the announcement.

H_TeXMeX_H 05-24-2010 04:29 PM

On the site it has 2010-05-24 .

Well, anyway good news. I'll torrent it tomorrow and seed too.

samac 05-24-2010 04:30 PM

So it is. I suppose PV is not infullable after all.

Thank-you Pat and crew. You helped make my day.

just started seeding. Not working, so can't buy :(

Since there wasn't any update since Wednesday, I've actually had a 13.1 DVD iso since about Thursday when I updated my current mirror.

I usually get the iso by bittorrent and seed it for at least 5-10 copies. This is the first release I've had a current mirror with Eric's script. Is there any way to connect my copy to the official .torrent without having to download it again? Maybe if I check the md5 to make sure it matches, then name it exactly like the official iso? I'll also have to get the 3-4 other text files that comes with it.

*edit*
Funny - I already had Eric's blog open but hadn't read past the first paragraph of his announcement. He mentions a method to do just what I was talking about.

Alphageek’s “sligdo files” are a very fast way of creating byte-exact copies of the official ISOs in case you already have a local mirror-copy of the full Slackware 13.1 tree. The ISOs you create with sligdo (http://alphageek.dyndns.org/linux/sligdo/) will pass the GPG verification test. I just hope he will have those sligdo files ready for downlooad in time. If not, I have copies here: http://alien.slackbook.org/sligdo/ .

Time to seed the torrents!

Thanks to Pat and team yet again for what's sure to be a great release.

LuckyCyborg 05-24-2010 04:47 PM

Okay, guys! Take a breath, start your torrents and leave/miss on-line your computers next days... We need seeders, much seeders! :)

Now, the only seeders are AlienBOB and one of his friends (I don't believe that The Great Pat is in Norway, now).

This is the release of Slackware 13.1

My only regret is XFCE 4.6.2 has left behind.

Opinions?
