I finally read the slackware notice that said that since Slackware-14.0 they are not allowed to distribute jre or jdk, and users have to get them independently. Yes, the plugin is buggy, and I presume you have it deleted unless your firefox saved you the bother and disabled it. No change on the rest of things. I have a GeoMapApp in /usr/local/bin. It's run by the bundle that came with the plugin. IcedTea sucks somewhat as a plugin, but you know - I don't really care.
