Issue with Atheros AR2425 (eeePC 1000Ha) on Slackware current

I've been experiencing issues with my wireless since I updated my eeePC to Slackware current a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't been making much use of it lately but then a need for it came up and I noticed that the issue is not as small as I (wrongfully) perceived initially.

I tried to solve it by myself but I'm stuck and not exactly sure of where else to look.

First, this is my system and configuration:

uname -a:
Code:
Linux darkstar 2.6.35.10-smp #2 SMP Thu Jan 6 20:17:27 CST 2011 i686 Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N270   @ 1.60GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
rc.inet1.conf (wireless section)
Code:
IFNAME[4]="ath0"
#IPADDR[4]=""
#NETMASK[4]=""
USE_DHCP[4]="yes"
#DHCP_HOSTNAME[4]="icculus-wireless"
#DHCP_KEEPRESOLV[4]="yes"
#DHCP_KEEPNTP[4]="yes"
#DHCP_KEEPGW[4]="yes"
#DHCP_IPADDR[4]=""
#WLAN_ESSID[4]=DARKSTAR
#WLAN_MODE[4]=Managed
#WLAN_RATE[4]="54M auto"
#WLAN_CHANNEL[4]="auto"
#WLAN_KEY[4]="D5A31F54ACF0487C2D0B1C10D2"
#WLAN_IWPRIV[4]="set AuthMode=WPAPSK | set EncrypType=TKIP | set WPAPSK=96389dc66eaf7e6efd5b5523ae43c7925ff4df2f8b7099495192d44a774fda16"
WLAN_WPA[4]="wpa_supplicant"
WLAN_WPADRIVER[4]="wext"
#WLAN_WPAWAIT[4]=30
I tried installing the madwifi drivers, reinstalling wicd and the issue persisted. Then just to be sure that the problem was not with the card itself, I booted up windows, the card works just fine. Also when connected with a network cable I don't experience any problems.

Finally this is the output from the logs. I have several like this, but I'm posting the last one, after all the troubleshooting (basically, back to square 1):

Wicd doesn't use rc.inet1.conf at all for its configuration. Try going into wicd and doing the setup there. If I understand your logs, it doesn't seem wicd is working yet.
