ispell on slackware? /usr/dict/words : no such device

hi..

i tried to install ispell from source..
failed with both System V, BSD compile option that readme suggested..
(i think i read slack is more like BSD?)

anyway, i downloaded ispell slack package
in emacs changing words(with l in ispell) gave me error
egrep: look /usr/dict/words : no such device

surely slack needs more work than mandy..

Try the following and I think it will fix the problem.

ln -s /usr/share/dict/words /usr/dict/words

Well, I do not know where the file originates from. Perhaps the easiest would be to just download it.

ftp://ftp.jpf.biz/words
