You have to be careful with some other distros and their beliefs:
Ubuntu = Voodoo
Suse = the worship of giant superintelligent lizards, such as the British Royal Family (google "David Icke")
Fedora = Hatmakers

Edit (again - sort yourself out, Brian!)

Well, I smoke a pipe and it's my only reason for using Slackware.

Fzza3a, are you seriously worried about whether or not Slackware is related to the Freemasons? It's software. If you don't want to use it, don't use it. It kinda sounds like you don't get it.

It's all a joke. They're all harmless. Stop worrying.

Everybody knows that Mandriva is a fundamentally sexist distro soon to be rivalled by the radical feminist WoMandriva ...

Distrowatch badly need to add a "philosophical / ethical / religous leaning" section to their lists to save us having to run these threads. Although since it's Friday afternoon perhaps we have nothing better to do.

Fzza3a, the beliefs (or jokes) of the Slackware creator is independent from the philosophy of the distribution.

And the pipe smoking is obviously a joke, as "Slack" and Church of the SubGenius is.
Because Church of the SubGenius satirizes religion, the image of Bob smoking a pipe has a deeper meaning - it shows that religion can sometimes teach/lead to bad things.

What about Islamic Linux.... ROFL

Sabily http://www.sabily.org/website/index....what-is-sabily

This is deemed to have "Islamic software" whatever that means....

Does Autodyn http://www.ansys.com/products/explic...yn/default.asp from Ansys qualify as "Islamic software"...? or LS Dyna http://www.ansys.com/products/explic...yn/default.asp from Livermore Software Technology Centre...?

I ask this because those guys back there in Teheran may like these "tiny, Nitty-witty" applications to design some "Islamic Stuff" ROFL...

...Like ICBMs, Slapper detonators, Explosive lenses ( The material libraries of Autodyn includes a pretty extensive collection of JWL, or IG models of "energetic materials" )

So... if Sabily comes with all this preinstalled...... a "True islamic Distro", I guess that ppl from Pakistan, Iran, Jordania, etc, will lot likely be Slackers... LMAO

Anyone here think they just got taken on a major troll-ride?

Troll-ride? You must be kidding - Freemasons do fund slackware developers... or hold on... was it the other way round?!
