is this normal? no x flags in /etc/rc.d
So I recently switched to slack. I did a full install and it was kinda broken out of the box, which is quite different from slack's reputation. The problem turned out to be that nothing in my /etc/rc.d directory was flagged as an executable. Is this normal?

Nothing at all in /etc/rc.d was executable ? Yes, that is a problem, but we should establish the cause. Are you sure the DVD or CD you burned was correctly burned ?

It's normal for many of the rc.* scripts to not to be +x (that's how slackware decides whether to start a particular subsystem or not), it's certainly not normal for nothing to be +x

I guess that makes sense. Well at least I know where to look now.
