Is there a program like Yast that you can use to install programs in Slackware 10.

you can download .tgz packages from a slackware mirror and use installpkg prog-name.tgz. If updating the package to newer version use:

upgradepkg oldpackage%newpackage.tgz

If updating the package to newer version use:

upgradepkg oldpackage%newpackage.tgz
If the new package has the same name as the old (just a new version-number) then just
upgradepkg newpackage.tgz
will do the trick. You only need to specify the old package if the new one has a different name (e.g. when Mozilla Firebird became Firefox).
