Is Stunnel necessary with Slack 14.1

I recently replaced my server and in the process upgraded from Slackware 10.2 to Slackware 14.1.

I use Microsoft's Outlook Express to get mail with SSL port 995.

I can not get my email with Outlook since upgrading my server. Email does get received at the server.

With Outlook I get the error:

Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I had Stunnel running on my old server. Do I need to install it on my new server to get email working?

Port 995 is open on my Lenux box.

Upon further review, I do have stunnel on the new server but the Outlook error still exists.

If anyone can suggest a fix for that I would appreciate it. SSL connections to port 995 were working with the server so I don't think its an Outlook configuration issue.

FYI, are you aware that you have to upgrade also through the intermediate releases (and read also every CHANGES_AND_HINTS.TXT and UPGRADE.TXT)?
also, 10.2 is really old, you have no guarantee that configurations that work on the software of that version will work on the new one: maybe you are better off reinstalling from scratch.
