is modules.conf different in slack?

In some installation readme files and notes it mentions to me that i should edit the modules.conf file to include some sommands like modprobe etc.

but when i open the file modules.conf is empty do I just line up commands uncommented in here when told.

my question has come about through wanting to install lmsensors I have got to the stage where I know i need to run two drivers i2c... and another ee... something. when i type sensors it says none exist this is because these drivers arent loaded.

How do I do this for slackware?

Many thanks

just simply add them lines to the modules.conf file like is says...and type them in manually.

Thanks DrOzz It is one of the things I find hard to get to grips with in Linux. I have seen files when opened in an editor which appear empty although when called from a command prompt eg - some /dev/ files and some /proc/ files when using cat /proc/<filename> produce information.

I am apprehensive about editing them sometimes incase I corrupt them for what they are intended when editing them in an editor. Is there any surefast way of telling this?
