Is libesmtp on SlackBuilds the same as ESMTP?

I am running 64bit Slackware 14.1. I run esmtp on fedora 21 on a different machine and use esmtp for basic pop3 mail delivery using an external email server (actually gmail), running it from the command line. Does the libesmtp provide the same functionality (or is it the same with a diff name)? I did try to search for "esmtp" on Slack but with nor clear answer (including running find on /, slackpkg, googling etc.).

esmtp and libesmtp are two different projects.

As an alternative to esmtp, you might consider ssmtp or msmtp.
