Never heard of kopeke. I did a search for it for about 15 minutes and found a bunch of links to geneology sites and video game stuff.

However..

Kopete is an AIM/IRC/ICQ/MSN/Yahoo client for KDE and it comes in the default Slackware installation. I have it in my Internet menu and I never use that stuff. If it's not on your installation it should be found easily in the official packages.

sorry about the typo.... are you sure that KOPETE is built into the bare 10.2 kernel? If it is then i must be blind or stupid....hopfully the former....also i have a question for you....i have an old CRT monitor and i cann't configure xorg so that my monitor doesn't freakout and make a loud noise....is there an auto tuner cheat code like there is for slax?

Kopete is an application. It doesn't need to be built into the kernel. In a terminal window try `which kopete` and see what you get. On my machine, I get /opt/kde/bin/kopete. If you installed the kdenetwork package, then you would have it.

what have you tried allready? I was able to auto config with 'xorgsetup'. All I had to do was change my default resolution.

I don't think it's either. You might do well to well to read http://www.slackbook.org/ oand possibly some other beginners Linux books.
