Is it impossible to install OpenVMS on Slack10.1?

Now I have Slackware 10.1 on PII 233, 196MB and it work find.

I want to use OpenVMS on Slackware but I do not know we can do it or not. I am not have VAX/Alpha machine to install real OpenVMS so I look to fine out the way to use OpenVMS. One way that I can think is install it on Slackware.

Sometime I think maybe it have emulator or simulator for OpenVMS on Slack.

Try FreeVMS

Hi,
I would help you with an URL but the control freaks here will not let me post an URL. So go to google and search on "FreeVMS". The first selection should take you to the project page. It is an active project but is still a major work in progress. They have finally got it to boot on Intel hardware.
Good luck,
Greg

Hi Woodbutcher,
Oh your suggestion very usefull for me. I will try to install it into Slack 10.1 and will let you know the result and configuration soon. But maybe not for freeVMS because that have several OpenVMS on Linux and more relate links about VMS.

Anyway, my point still on not install on VAX machine..

Thank you so much & May the power with you guy...

OpenVMS onto Linux

You may use SIMH to emulate a VAX, just search for SIMH.
It runs on Windows, Unix and VMS itself.
