internet sharing


i have a windows box 192.168.1.1 and a linux box 192.168.1.2 the internet is from my winbox so my windows box is the gate way. i can ping my windows from linux and vice versa but, mozilla wont connect to the web. i have tried this with my windows firewall off. any ideas? i dont know what to put for domain name. thanks

If you want to have your LInux box be the gateway, we could probably help you. You need to go find a forum that deals with mswindows.

Have you specified the DNS server on your Linux box? I had the same problem until I found the tab and all the DNS entries were empty... just specify the primary DNS server as 192.168.1.1

when i start up i get errors about my network card
insmod 8139cp failed
i read in this forum that it had to do with two different modules for my nic. but their solution is not right for me. where to start to resolve this problem. ive tried to connect to the internet and i can now????? whats going on??? is this going to change later on and im not going to be able to use the internet? and thanks it was the dns problem
