If not then you'll be best to compile a 2.6.x kernel with the card compiled in it.

I couldn't find it so I better compile the latest kernel.

You can lsmod to see what modules is loaded.

To make sure the router is not the problem, why don't you take it out of the equation and try to do an adsl-setup ? Do a direct connection to the internet. If it works, then the router will be the problem.

Removing the router wouldn't do anything cause his driver isn't loading.

Yes, the router is NOT the problem. It has a build in DHCP server which is functioning. The problem is the Gigabit Ethernet Card. Well, the driver for it. Not sure whether it is present in 2.4.* since that is the default Slackware 10 kernel. It is definately in 2.6.* kernel.
