Intermittent reboots with Slackware 12.2 system

I've been having this problem for a while now and my forehead is bloody.

My system reboots itself at odd times. Sometimes 2-3 times quickly in a row, sometimes after 24-48 hours. I cannot find any info in the logs, dmesg, etc.

System consists of an Intel DX38BT M/B, Core 2 Quad Q6700, 8GB Corsair RAM, Diamond Radeon video, 6 SATA drives, Ultra 750W P/S.

I thought it might be software related since I run a lot of different apps (KDE, Firefox, Thunderbird, NetBeans, VMWare Workstation, RealPlay, etc) all at the same time, but I tested it with just logging in to KDE and running the console app. Still rebooted after a long while.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Boot a live cd, like Ubuntu or Slax.
Wait.
If reboot occurs again, you should consider it's a hardware issue (maybe a bad bios setting too).

I encountered a similar problem with two new identical desktop systems I recently purchased.
Both machines would randomly either reboot or freeze.
One machine has Slackware 12.1 and the other has Windows-XP.

I added an extra case fan to both systems.
That cured the Slackware machine.
The XP machine still randomly reboots or freezes; but not nearly as much as it used to.

Thanks to both of you. I can't believe I didn't think of booting off a CD and letting it sit for a while.
As for the case fan, I have 3 of them in the case as well as the fan in the power supply.

Thanks again
