Installing Virtualbox in Slackware 14.0

I am trying to install Virtualbox from slackbuilds, i get this terminal output at the end saying as below:

Quote:

Writing /tmp/SBo/package-virtualbox/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/vboxapi-1.0-py2.7.egg-info
/tmp/SBo/VirtualBox-4.2.0/out/linux.amd64/release/bin
cp: cannot stat ‘/root/Downloads/virtualbox/VBoxGuestAdditions_4.2.0.iso’: No such file or directory
root@darkstar:~/Downloads/virtualbox#
I couldn't create the binary file for installation virtualbox. What should i do next?

You will need to download the VBoxGuestAdditions ISO, as well as all of the other files listed under the "Source Downloads" heading for the package you are building.

Alternatively you can just download the binary installer directly from VirtualBox/Oracle. It works quite well.

Take a look at this post (plus the others in the thread) http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...0/#post4825754 and, possibly this one too https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...2/#post4714142.

Easiest way is to install the binary (you can uninstall it using /opt/VirtualBox/uninstall.sh if you need or want to; VirtualBox is installed in /opt.

Hope this helps some.

Thank you for the info.

Managed to installed the VirtualBox from Oracle.
I plan to run win7 on it but i do not have the CD/DVD needed. It lays hidden in my original hard disc(manufactured by DELL). Guess i need to find one.
Meantime will explore to play with other OS.
