installing two versions of boost okay

some software i want to use requires boost-0.69.x, but slackware64-current has boost-0.70.x if i have boost-0.69.x installed then instead of upgrading it to boost-0.70.x i just install the newer version of boost, would the new version of boost clobber older libraries & includes? or would they be happy sitting in their respective directories side by side?

i am aware of alien bob's boost compat packages but i need the includes for build purposes

yup. the new boost package will over-write the old boost package includes files, this is a bad idea if anyone else is thinking about doing it

Just for future reference, you can use installpkg --warn /location/to/package.txz to see if it will overwrite files on the system without actually installing it.
