Installing Slackware from Jumpdrive


Is there away to put Slackware on a jumpdrive and boot and install from it? If so how can I do it?

That's probably a good way to go... as far as being pre-made for that exact task... If you want a traditional full slackware install though, I'm sure it's possible but note that you'll probably need to recompile the kernel and ensure it has all needed USB features. You'll also have to edit /etc/fstab mind you...

There is also a nice little distro called SLAX which is built off of slackware and runs very well off all portable media including CD and USB flash drives.
There are detailed instructions for how to configure on the website (is very easy). There are various versions (or you can create your own) the basic install will run from a 128MB key and is VERY fast to boot...
